The alumni network includes all graduates of Sorbonne University, Pierre and Marie Curie University (Paris VI) and Paris-Sorbonne University (Paris IV). It maintains the link between alumni and the Sorbonne University community to which they belong. Its goal is to develop collaborations in professional insertion and career development, training, research, innovation, business creation, etc.

Alumni is the plural of the Latin word alumnus, which means "student." Today, alumni refers to former students, graduates and alumni of the same university or school.

From the moment you join Sorbonne University, you are a member of its community for life. When you graduate, you have free access to the alumni network. You will receive regular information on the scientific news of Sorbonne University, the social life of the network and invitations to events organized especially for you. You can participate in various clubs’ activities and get involved with other members of the community.

Sorbonne University was born on January 1, 2018 from the merger between Pierre and Marie Curie University (Paris VI) and Paris-Sorbonne University (Paris IV). So you are now automatically an alumnus of Sorbonne University.

No, the alumni network is free. No membership fee is required. To be eligible, you just need to be a graduate of Sorbonne University, Pierre and Marie Curie University (Paris VI) or the Paris-Sorbonne University (Paris IV).

At the end of 2021, we will launch an online platform where you will be able to modify your details yourself.

No, you are and will always be a graduate of the Pierre and Marie Curie University (Paris VI) or of Paris-Sorbonne University (Paris IV). However, you should know that we no longer publish or communicate under these two names, but under the name Sorbonne University and its variations of faculties, institutes, internal schools, etc.

Officially, you are and will always be a graduate of Pierre and Marie Curie University (Paris VI) or of Paris-Sorbonne University (Paris IV). However, we no longer publish or communicate under these two names, but under the name Sorbonne University and its variations of faculties, institutes, internal schools, etc. We therefore strongly encourage you to change the affiliation of your degree on social networks. On your CVs and cover letters, if it is appropriate to indicate your university of origin, we advise you to indicate it in brackets: "Sorbonne University (ex-UPMC or ex Paris-Sorbonne).” Finally, you can inform your employers if you deem it useful.

To join a specific club (e.g. regional), benefit from its activities or be part of its team, simply write to alumni@sorbonne-universite.fr. We'll add you to their mailing list or put you in touch with their leaders. You can also join its LinkedIn group.

We thank you for your commitment to the success of Sorbonne University students. Many programs organize job fairs for students. In addition, our services dedicated to career guidance and integration, in our faculties and within our Doctoral College, set up workshops and exchanges between our students and professionals throughout the year.   • In the arts and humanities: you can create an account and post your offer on the Faculty of Arts and Humanities' Career Platform.
  • In medicine and paramedics: contact the career guidance and integration service of the Faculty of Medicine.

Some Sorbonne University programs have an alumni network specific to their discipline. Send us an email specifying your original program so that we can put you in touch with them. If the program you are interested in does not currently have a network of graduates, we can do a search for you.

At the end of 2021, Sorbonne University will provide you with an online platform that will include a directory and a job portal dedicated to alumni.

Until then, if you are a graduate of the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, you can access their career platforms to submit your CV and consult job offers, as well as contact the services dedicated to professional integration:

In all other cases, you can post your requests on the LinkedIn groups of the clubs you are a member of.

The Alumni Relations Department can also put you in touch with the alumni networks of the programs when they exist.

Sorbonne University has more than 130 laboratories and research teams in all fields of humanities, medicine, science and engineering, as well as many interdisciplinary institutes. It also has all the links in the chain of innovation, technology transfer and entrepreneurship. We can support you and develop collaborations in all these areas.
