Open science has become an integral part of research organization policies and funding bodies. It is also a very important element of Sorbonne University's institutional policy (Projet d'établissement 2019-2023, Charter for Open Access to Publications, Policy on Open Data).

Actions for open science are also held in high regard during internal evaluations (such as calls for projects or recruitment).

Learn more about the international movement for Open Science, which is the "unfettered dissemination of the results, methods and products of scientific research."

Presentation of the MOOC

Led by a joint team from the Sorbonne University libraries and the French National Museum of Natural History (Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle), this MOOC, which is entirely free of charge, is intended primarily for doctoral candidates, particularly those from the Sorbonne University Alliance. However, it is open to everyone. Its development reflects the commitment made by Sorbonne University in the Charter for Open Access to Publications to train all its doctoral candidate in open science.

All contents of the MOOC are under a CC-BY license and can therefore be freely reused, in particular by other higher education and research institutions.
