The Emergence Program
The Émergence call for projects supports researchers and academic researchers from the Sorbonne University Alliance, particularly colleagues at the start of their careers or recently recruited, who are eager to engage in breakthrough research projects.
Présentation
The aim is to bring out new fields and/or new practices through research, both at the heart and interface of disciplines. The projects supported are research projects that break with the state of the art and have not yet received funding to enable them to reach a sufficient level of development for submission to regional, national, European, or international calls for proposals.
Research-creation projects are eligible under the call for proposals.
Projects must meet one of the following criteria:
- Enable the launch of a new, original research theme with significant development potential following the Emergence funding period
- Enable the conduct of a pilot study dedicated to testing new research hypotheses
The research topic and/or methodological approach chosen must imperatively break with the norm.
This non-thematic call for projects is open to all researchers and lecturers from member institutions of the Sorbonne University Alliance who conduct their research within an Alliance unit. It is aligned with the Alliance's strategic plan, particularly with regard to open science; publications resulting from work supported by the Sorbonne University Alliance must be deposited in an open archive such as HAL.
It should provide an opportunity to establish new research collaborations within or outside the Alliance.
The program allows for funding of projects lasting up to 24 months, with funding ranging from €20,000 to €120,000.
