Wildly Oscillating Stars -- Unexplained dense ridge-like frequency agglomerations in A and F type pulsators

V Antoci, J Labadie-Bartz, M Swiech, O Deurfeldt-Pedros, S.J Murphy, D.W Kurtz, T.R Bedding, G Handler, J Fuller, R.-M Ouazzani, H Kjeldsen, L Fellay, M. Gade Pedersen, E Niemczura, D.M Bowman, M Deal, P Mani

We investigate the origin of the dense, ridge-like frequency clusters observed in a subset of A and F type pulsating stars, which we refer to as `wildly oscillating' stars (WOS). These agglomerated frequency regions occupy a confined part of the frequency spectrum, typically below the…

Breton, Andrés Carmona, Paul Cristofari, Morgan Deal, Sébastien Deheuvels, Xavier Delfosse, Colin P. Folsom, Rafael A. García, Xuejing Hu, Gaitee A. J. Reiners, Aline A Vidotto

Magnetic activity plays a key role in the evolution of solar-type stars and their exoplanet environments, yet magnetic mapping of PLATO targets remains limited. We present a spectropolarimetric survey of FGKM stars using Neo-Narval, ESPaDOnS, SPIRou and HARPSpol (PI programs 2023–2026 on Neo-Narval…

Active chromospheric fibril singularity

Reetika Joshi, Luc Rouppe van der Voort, Guillaume Aulanier, Sanja Danilovic, Avijeet Prasad, Carlos Díaz Baso, Daniel Nóbrega-Siverio, Nicolas Poirier, Daniele Calchetti

Context. The fine structures of the solar chromosphere, driven by photospheric motions, play a crucial role in the dynamics of solar magnetic fields. Many such structures have already been identified, such as fibrils, filament feet, and arch filament systems. Nevertheless, high-resolution…
