ERC Projects
Sorbonne Université is the 1st university in France in terms of projects and funding acquired by the European Research Council (ERC) and 4th in the ranking that includes national research organisations.
As Europe's leading funding body for excellence in exploratory research, the European Research Council funds research projects in all disciplines.
Since 2021, under the Horizon Europe programme:
25 ERC projects were awarded to Sorbonne Université, for €32,4M, including 5 Affiliated Entities, with a success rate of 21,7%:

- 5 ERC Advanced Grants (ADG)
- 5 ERC Starting Grant (STG)
- 3 ERC Synergy Grant (SyG)
- 2 ERC Proof of Concept (POC)
The ERC projects obtained are spread across 15 of the 28 existing panels: 14 in Physical Sciences & Engineering, 6 in Life Sciences, and 3 in Social Sciences & Humanities.
