Horizon Europe research projects
Sorbonne Université is recognised as a world-class, research-intensive, multidisciplinary university.
It is the 1st university in France in terms of European funding and projects acquired via Horizon Europe, the European Union's framework programme for research and innovation from 2021 to 2027.
Among the French participants, Sorbonne Université is the 1st university in France and ranks 6th after the organisations in terms of European budgets obtained. Sorbonne Université is also the 2nd French beneficiary, just after the CNRS, of the MSCA Post-doctoral Fellowships.
In addition, it is 5th in terms of the number of participants.
184 projects were obtained.
Since 2021, Sorbonne Université has a success rate of 22,1% in the Horizon Europe programme, with an overall budget of €82,3m.
SU's success rate was 18% in the Horizon 2020 programme (2014-2020), with a total budget of €100m.

The different roles within European projects:
Coordinator:
The Coordinator is responsible for managing the project, submitting reports and deliverables, and maintaining contact with the EU Granting Authority.
Beneficiary:
Partners in the project, beneficiaries sign the Grant Agreement and carry out tasks and activities within the project.
Affiliated Entity:
Partner that has a legal or financial link with one of the beneficiaries, which is neither limited to the action nor established solely for the purpose of its implementation. It does not sign the Grant Agreement.
Associated partner:
Partner hosting or training doctoral students or postdocs as part of MSCA projects.
