Can a machine learn to draw? Can an algorithm simulate a shell pattern? Are cellular structures the image of our environment?

The exhibition "Logical Drawings" by Gaëtan Robillard is the result of research conducted on drawings, algorithms, generative aesthetics and the transmission of knowledge. This research will intervene here in connection with building architecture.

Rather than results, the project consists of demonstrating operational processes that are both science and art.

In the manner of fiction software, the exhibition pays tribute to the "imaginary machine" of Vera Molnar, pioneer of algorithmic art.

A collaborative creation workshop on Gaëtan Robillard’s drawing machine will be held every Thursday from 12:30 to 13:30 starting November 15, 2018 through January 31, 2019 at the ESPE library.
