Friday, April 19, The France Culture radio station dedicated a full day’s programming to Europe, and invited Jean Chambaz, president of Sorbonne University, to talk about Scientific Method.

Entitled "Can French research be done without Europe?", the program raised several crucial questions, one month before the European elections:

•    How should we be performing research today at the national and European levels?
•    What can Europe do for French research?
•    How does the French research structure itself within a European context?

Jean Chambaz, Jean-Pierre Bourguignon (President of the European Research Council), Ursula Bassler (CNRS Research Director and President of the CERN Council) and Jean-Yves Le Gall (CNES President and Chairman of the Board of the European Space Agency) have each brought their point of view. Listen to the show.

"Research is not an isolated question, it is one of the keys to the future of Europe", Jean Chambaz, President of Sorbonne University and European League of Research Universities (LERU).

In parallel, France Culture has rebroadcast the program recorded at the France Culture Forum in its entirety: "And if everything depended on May 26: Europe, the moment of truth", held at the Grand Amphitheater of the Sorbonne on April 13, 2019.
