The ‘Integrated Health’ project is part of a Franco-Indian partnership in life sciences and health, supported by the French Ministries for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and Higher Education, Research and Innovation. Within this framework, Sorbonne University and IITD are providing mobility opportunities to Master’s students and PhD candidates. By joining this interdisciplinary campus, you will have the unique opportunity to tackle the societal and medical challenges of tomorrow and forge links with IITD’s laboratories.
Practical information
Nature of the activities
Internships or research stays for Master’s students and PhD candidates enrolled at Sorbonne University or IIT Delhi, depending on the project and the opportunities available at the host laboratory.
Duration and period
The mobility stays will take place during the first semester of the 2026/2027 academic year (September 2026 – January 2027).
- Master's: minimum 3 months to maximum 6 months
- PhD: minimum 1 month to maximum 6 months (the exact duration is to be agreed with the host laboratory)
Eligible research areas
- Humanities and health, with a focus on biomedical humanities, social epidemiology, cognition, social health inequalities, mental health, and gender bias
- Structural biology and modelling: cryoEM, NMR, computational biology, molecular docking, virtual screening
- Cancer biology, therapeutics, and personalised medicine
- Regenerative medicine, stem cell biology, and biotechnologies
- Neurodegenerative diseases and cognitive disorders
- Biomedical engineering, imaging, and artificial intelligence (AI) in treatment and diagnostic processes
Funding for your mobility
To support you in your project, the programme provides:
- International transport: costs up to €1,000
- Monthly grant: €500
How to apply?
Eligibility criteria
- You must have completed all administrative formalities and paid the enrolment fees for a Master’s degree (M1 or M2) or a PhD (from the first year onwards) at Sorbonne University.
- You must have a sufficient level of English (minimum CEFR level B2).
Required documents
Your application must include the following:
- A cover letter explaining your interest in the programme and your academic and professional objectives (max. 1 page, font size 12)
- A CV highlighting relevant academic and professional experience (Europass format preferred)
- Transcripts for the last four semesters for Master’s students, and transcripts for the entire Master’s degree for PhD students
- Research plan (compulsory for PhD students): a brief description of your research topic and the activities planned during the mobility period
- Letter of invitation from the host laboratory (applicants must contact the IITD laboratories of their choice, within the scope of the eligible research areas)
- Letter of recommendation from an academic supervisor and/or any other person deemed relevant to the application (optional)
- For PhD students, approval from the laboratory and the candidate’s original thesis supervisor
