The France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship Programme 2026/2027
The Eiffel Excellence scholarship programme was established by the French Ministry for European and Foreign Affairs to help French higher education and research institutions attract top international Master’s and PhD students. The programme strives to train future foreign decision-makers in the private and public sectors and priority fields of study.
Presentation
The scholarship is awarded for the academic year indicated in the call for applications. The start of the stay must take place between 1st September and 30 November of the year in which the scholarship is awarded.
For Master’s applications: the programme funds stays of 12 to 24 months, depending on the year of enrolment. It is reserved for students studying in France for the first time.
For PhD applications: the programme funds stays of 12 to 18 months, depending on the year of enrolment, and as part of a cotutelle or joint supervision agreement (a cotutelle agreement must be signed) and provides a 36-month scholarship for new students in France, on the condition that recipients are enrolled in the first year of a doctoral programme.
Only excellent applications (at least an average grade of 15/20 in the last three academic years) will be selected and sent to Campus France by Sorbonne University.

- Ecological transition
- Mathematics and digital science
- Engineering
- French history, language and civilisation
- Law and political science
- Economics and management

- For Master's applications: please contact the relevant contact person (contact details below) to submit your application before 28 November 2025 to ensure that the initial selection of applications is completed on time. Please note that for Master's programmes, you should not contact the heads of programmes directly; your application must be sent to the indenfitied contact person.
- For PhD applications: contact the head of the doctoral school to secure a positive opinion before 24 November to ensure that the initial selection of applications is completed on time. The head of the doctoral school will contact the contact people listed below before 24 November 2025 to give you access to an online application. Complete the online application. The third part of the application regarding general information about the institution will be completed by Sorbonne University, who will finalise the applications and send them to Campus France.
PLEASE NOTE: please do not take the closing date for applications indicated by Campus France into account. Applications which are received after 24 November 2025 (for PhD applications) or 28 November 2025 (for Master's applications) will not be reviewed by Sorbonne University.
